When it comes to lip color, this season’s hottest beauty trend has to be plum lips. Just like a lot of things, it’s not for everyone, but you do have to admit — it does look good! It gives a very dark look, without being too gothic or sinister. Jason Wu’s runway this fall featured gorgeous models sporting the popular lip color as they strutted down the runways, but out of all the beauties above, Miss Rihanna Fenty was the first to rock the berry-like lip color, last summer at the 2008 BET Awards.

Application:: Your best bet would be to apply the color to the center of the lips, then blend outward for a softer look. But, if you want to create a glossy, stained effect – add a bit of your fave plum-colored lip gloss and focus the color in the center of the lips. And, don’t forget to purchase a lip pencil. It keeps lipcolor in it’s place, and prevents the color from running.

Like many other celebs, teen socialite Teyana Taylor has decided to try her hand at designing — Lip gloss that is. At least it’s an unsaturated field, right? The official site is still under construction, and the Dope Lips lip gloss won’t even hit stores until next year (2010). My main reason for doing this post is because Teyana recently posted these fab pics of herself modeling and promoting her latest business venture — DOPE LIPS.

Looking her usual rockstar-edgy self, Rihanna appears in GLAMOUR magazine’s Women of the Year 2009 section. Above, she wears a fab black and silver Balmain Fall 2009 strapless mini dress, trendy jeweled cuffs from Glynneth B Jewelry, Dominique Aurientis Paris, and Fawn by Jennifer Fisher Jewelry.

In the mag, the superstar opens up about abuse and her struggle in the past 8mos, as she geared up for a long-awaited album set to drop later this month, as well as her struggle to getting back on top of her “A” game.

On the leaked photo of her battered face:
It was humiliating; that is not a photo you would show to anybody. I felt completely taken advantage of. I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the Internet, and it’s my life. I was disappointed, especially when I found out the photo was [supposedly leaked by] two women.

On the aftermath:
It has taught me so much. I felt like I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day. It was like, What, there are helicopters circling my house? There are 100 people in my cul-de-sac? What do you mean, I can’t go back home?

My friends and family have been extremely supportive, and everyone has been there for me. But at some point you are there alone. It’s a lonely place to be—no one can understand. That’s when you get close to God.

On Domestic Violence:
Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbor know that you fight. It’s one of the things we [women] will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women.

On finding love one day:
I hope I find love in the next 10 years—that will be pretty annoying if I am 31 and still have never been in love!
